July Meeting Recap

August 10, 2009 at 12:19 pm (Meetings, Projects)

On July 21st, 9 Milwaukee Sewing Club Members met to work on the pleated clutch as well as their own projects. We bagan the meeting with a short introduction of members. Some brought samples of their work for show and tell.

Before long, we were working on the project. I, Karen, supplied a copy of the pattern to each of the members for the pleated clutch named Anna Mae. We worked for 2 hours and nearly everyone finished the bag portion of the pattern. Members were encouraged to go home and finish the casing and the flap on their own or to bring it to our August Meeting to finish. Our August Meeting will be a working meeting. This means that everyone should bring a project to work on of their own. There will not be a planned project so it’s time to get all those unfinished projects completed.

The Anna Mae Clutch pattern will soon be available for purchase. Check KChristineOnline.com for information on the pattern. You may also email karen at kchristine.info@gmail.com to find out about the Milwaukee Sewing Club meeting or the Anna Mae Clutch pattern.

Ning Social Network Group

July 9, 2009 at 7:38 am (BurdaStyle)

David from BurdaStyle has set up a Ning site for BurdaStyle Sewing Clubs. This site is really cool because once you join the Milwaukee Sewing Club group we can have discussions. I’m really excited about this because it will be a great way to keep track of meeting announcements. Of course I’ll still post information on here. Sending information through BurdaStyle email isn’t the easiest for me to keep track of who got what so this is a welcomed addition to the BurdaStyle Sewing Club. What else is cool about this Ning site is that you can check out other groups around the world and see what they are up to and see pictures of their projects.

Make sure to join the Ning group because after the next meeting all announcements about the Club will be through this blog and the Milwaukee Sewing Club Ning Group. (Wow! Say that 10 x’s fast.)
